After they found the “twins” at my second scan at 9 1/2 weeks, Dr. told me to plan on gaining 50-70 pounds! What?! Not only are twin pregnancies full term at 37 weeks, MoMo pregnancies typically deliver at 32-34 weeks and sometimes much earlier. That only gives me 18 weeks to gain some serious baby mama weight. Lately, that’s what I’ve been focusing on, food and weight. Fat, protein and iron are the three most important nutrients I keep hearing again and again for multiple pregnancies. So, along with a ton of extra daily calories, I’m trying to eat all the stuff you want to eat as a little kid. It’s go time for me. Steaks, burgers, fries, McDonalds (usually not a fan but the pregnancy hormones crave weird things) Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and chicken pot pies are all in a days work.

In order to gain 50 pounds by 32 weeks, I’ll need to add about 2 pounds a week. Sounds like a lot to me but possible very possible.

Gaining weight while pregnant with twins is no easy job. I’m just saying…
